Simply amazing. Measured my height, and my moms right on the dot. Tested it around the house and it works great too! Sometimes it takes a little to settle, but it is very accurate! Good work! Nice interface too. As an architect this will be pretty useful when making estimates in homes. The sound is quite anoying, but I can understand its purpose...
Sur le 3G pas impressionnant Not amazing on iPone3G LOL May be better on 3GS ???? ;o)
A retina icon shows in AppStore, but doesnt on the homescreen of my iPhone 5. Why...? I love this app !
Very very very bad You just took my money from me You are laying
I held off buying for a few after seeing it show up in the app store hoping that there would be a few reviews. But since none showed up I decided to be the guinea pig and give it a try because I was intrigued by the idea. Well, hopefully no-one else wastes their money on this app. No matter how far I am from the wall Im trying to measure, the "ruler" just keeps jumping between 12" and 15 inches. I can hear the sound, and I even tried restarting my iPhone 3G. This just simply does not work as advertised even when carefully following all the directions...
I really liked the radar mode. It works exactly like radar except with sound instead of microwaves--just like bats find their way around. I am also amazed at the accuracy in calculating the distance of all reflexions. I put my hand in front, and it detected my hand, the monitor, and wall behind it. I moved my hand half and inch, and it detected the change. However, this is not a replacement for a contractor tool, as the iPhones microphone is not directional. But is still useful to give a rough idea of a rooms dimentions (like when shopping for a home). My wife did complain about the high pitch sound (over 7khz, which I cannot hear). So this tool can also be used to keep teenagers away. :-)
Maybe works once and awhile but not Reliable. Measurents jump all over and it wont work at all with min distance less than 24". Very dissapointed.
This works well, if you understand the limitations. 1) Set the ambient Temperature - the speed of sound is a function of air temperature! 2) Use the radar mode - allows you to see the "interference" and select the appropriate measurement. Im really interested in seeing this app expanded by using the accelerometer and the compass to "sketch" a room. It should be possible for the tool to know where it is and build a map of a room if you sit in the middle of it and spin around slowly for a quick estimate of area and potentially volume. Im loving the tools built using the iPhone Sensors - keep up the good work! My Tricorder is waiting...
I bought both apps and I must say found pocketmeter easier and more accurate to use. One advice for the developers... You guys need to change your icon to reflect the "sonar" aspect of your apps. It will help sell more apps...
Ive tried it app in a variety of rooms and it was fairly accurate.
Forget my first rating. Didnt see the doesnt work on First Gen iPhone disclamer, though it would have been nice if that had been bigger.
very disappointed, it just doesnt work, instead of 0.5m it shows 4,5m, scale is jumpin all over the screen. dont waste your money for this app. there are 1000s of apps much better for .99$
This app only seems to work even remotely close to what is advertised indoors against a perfectly flat surface. Forget trying to measure the distance from the garage to the shed, especially if there happens to be a shrub or blade or two of grass in between. I have tried every setting with the same results. Glad I only paid 99 cents for it.
Dont buy, a complete waste of money, doesnt work!!!
Will only calculate up 16.9 ft then it jumps down to .0 please increase this calculable rang
If anybody expects this app to compete with professional-grade ultrasonic distance measuring equipment, then youre expecting too much from your iDevice. If you want a ballpark distance measurement between the phone/pad and a flat wall in a totally silent room (with temp configured), this app was accurate down to 1/8th of an inch - when compared side by side to a tape measure. Plumbing a new sink and cutting copper pipe? No. Need to overestimate the dimensions of your rectangular closet so you can get paint? Yes.
I heard about this app about a year ago. Now I have a 4S, it works really well. Sonar ruler app fluctuates too wildly and its no where near the actual distance. With this app, the distance sometimes is off just by a few inches. Thats how accurate it is. It is definitely worth it for 99c.
Tape measure does not measure accurately and tape measure moves up & down rapidly even with a steady hand
Dont expect miracles but this is quite cute and sort-of works. The mode with the graph (as in last picture, grey) is the most useful, as the position of the peaks is constant even if the app changes its mind about which to call the primary one. Not updated for iPhone 5 or 6 screens, but works on my 5s.
